Activities

Our Activities

Below is a sample; these and other activities can be easily arranged for you by our caretaker and manager.

Surfing

You will be picked up directly from Vale Sekoula and transported by boat to some of the best surfing in Fiji. Within a 20-30 minute boat ride you will have access to some of the best surfing in Fiji. Check out our Maqai Island world famous surf spots. Beginners to Advance welcome.

Free Kayaking & Paddleboarding

Vale Sekoula offers free kayaking and paddleboarding. From the backyard, paddle out to Honeymoon Island. Honeymoon Island is a small island about 1 mile from the house. If you don't want to  paddle, our local guide can take you by boat and drop you and your loved ones on your very own beach for snorkeling and a lunch picnic.  The most amazing coral garden you might ever see is at your finger tips. See what our guests said about it.

Waitabu Marine Park Snorkeling Tour
You’ll experience beautiful white sand beaches, fantastic snorkeling, which you will sail to on a traditional Fijian bilibili (bamboo) raft, followed by tea and snacks and village music. All accompanied by trained Fijian guides. Two tour options are available. Dates and times are dependent upon tidal schedules. Please be sure to cover your shoulder and knees while in the village and remove your hat and sunglasses.

Pearl Farm Tour
Tour an actual producing pearl farm. See how pearls are seeded and cared for to create these exquisite gems. Snorkeling tours will be available once damage from Cyclone Winston is remediated.

Waitavala Waterslide
Approximately 30 minutes by taxi. This natural waterslide is a picturesque spot, secluded and fun to explore. The slide is a little tricky but worth the ride for the adventurous type. Wear some old shorts as they may get damaged by the rocks. You can easily combine this trip with the one to the Wairiki Mission.

Bird Watching at Nabogiono Farms
Taveuni is host to nearly all of the birds found in Fiji. Nabagiono Farms is located approximately 1.5 hours down the coast. Tour guides are available to guide you through the jungle and treat you with their knowledge of plants, orchids and Taveuni bird life. Many experts describe it as a memorable experience. In particular you should to try to catch sight of the Orange Breasted Dove and the Silktail, found nowhere else in the world. The entire trip takes 5 to 6 hours.

Korolevu Island
The small island of Graden Island Resort has great snorkeling and a wonderful beach with white sand. Dolphins are often seen just off the beach. Many guests take a picnic lunch, snorkel and spend the rest of the time relaxing on the beach.

Wiwi Village
Wiwi village is a short taxi ride from Vale Sekoula, and you really should visit at least one village during your stay. It’s an experience not to be missed! We would recommend also including a lovo, meke and kava ceremony, all of which can easily be arranged!

Diving/Snorkeling
The Rainbow Reef is commonly recognized as the soft coral capital of the world! Dedicated divers come from everywhere on the globe to experience the magnificent and exhilarating dive sites such as the famed Great White Wall, Fish Factory, Rainbow Passage and Cabbage Patch to name just a few. We highly recommend Nakia Dive owned and operated by Julie Kelly. We have been told many times by experienced divers that Julie operates the most professional dive operation they have ever used. If you are not a diver, they also offer snorkel trips that go out with the dive trips. A great option for families who have some members who scuba dive and some that do not. Prices and offers for Nakia Dive are located in the brochure book at Vale Sekoula and may be found here

Fishing
There are many options for chartered fishing trips on Taveuni. Fishing poles and lures can be provided, or try traditional Fijian hand line fishing if you prefer. Catch Walu, Sanka, Tuna, Red Snapper, and a variety of other ocean fish.

Horseback Riding
Explore Fiji's Garden Island on horseback. From breathtaking hilltop panoramic views to enchanting sunset beach rides, this is an experience you will remember for a lifetime.

WaterFalls

The Tavoro Waterfalls (also Tavoro Falls as well as the Bouma Waterfalls or Bouma Falls) are a spectacular series of three waterfalls nestled within the Bouma National Heritage Park. The first waterfall, called the Lower Bouma Falls, is said to be 24m tall and is easily the most popular as it allows swimming.

Lavena Coastal Walk

On Taveuni, Fiji’s “Garden Island,” you’ll find a lush land made of verdant jungles, coral reefs, and rugged coastlines. The Lavena Coastal Walk is one of my favorite things to do in Taveuni. After you build up a sweat on a long (yet leisurely) walk, you’re rewarded with epic waterfalls at the end.
